Join us September 12-14, 2010...

We have established a much-needed Fall Market at an ideal time of year. When higher profit margins are paramount to success in a difficult business environment, NYICS is an opportunity for qualified importers of high-end handmade Oriental carpets to meet rug retailers, home furnishings and design showroom buyers from the USA, Canada, and South America. European buyers also attend.

Interior designers and architects sourcing fine handmade carpets for their upscale residential, hospitality and executive commerical projects will visit NYICS. The high quality and diversity of goods and the convenience of having so many top importers in one convenient location means a more efficient use of a buyer's valuable time.

The New York Show is a chapter in the new story about emerging changes in this industry. Our growth over the past six years is a reliable indication of how NYICS meets a market need. Forward-looking importers and buyers alike who want to be a part of this important change and take your companies to a higher and more profitable level, should put NYICS at the top of their list.

Here are a few of the features that have been implemented, with more to come:

  • The New York Fall Market is held in September, at an ideal buying time.
  • This year's dates are September 12-14, 2010, with opening day on Sunday, the 12th.
  • Convenient show hours are 9am -- 6pm each day.
  • Our location at 7 West 34th Street (just steps from 5th Avenue) is in the heart of the mid-town Decorative and Oriental rug district.
  • Free shuttle service between NYICS and ORICA.
  • NYICS at 7 West is "Carpet Central" -- your meeting place of choice during New York Market Week!
  • Our 7 West Trade Center building location is home to other major national and international home furnishings trade shows.
  • The big NY Home Furnishings Market at 7 West runs during Market Week with many buyers also attending NYICS.
  • "Designer Day" during NYICS features a panel of leading professionals from the influential architecture and interior design communities. A complimentary lunch, hosted by 7 West, follows the discussions that focus on using decorative and Oriental carpets in high-end hospitality, residential and commercial projects.

”Especially now, we need to feel a renewed drive to present the best of what we can produce in handmade rugs, and get that idea of innovation and lasting value to the public. Only a true market can do this for the retailer—to see new things, make new contacts, explore new avenues. Dennis Dodds is making that effort, to bring together in the best market town a group of exhibitors who have that goal in mind—to present the best and generate excitement for a renewed faith in the industry.” – John D. Kurtz, New Moon Rugs

The show "...was a tale of pretty and prettier with a selection of some of the most unique boutique rugs around...NYICS has found its niche by highlighting exhibitors with one-of-a-kind merchandise and original collections with fresh points of view." -- Rug Insider Magazine, New York, Winter 2009, p. 72.

"Tantalizing new design introductions led the way. Most of these exhibitors sell carpets with well-executed transitional and contemporary looks that fare well at the upper end of the style-conscious market. This may have contributed to their good sales results, as many feel that this is where the market is strongest...After just three shows, NYICS has claimed a definite niche in the handmade carpet industry."  --  Rug Insider Magazine, New York, Winter 2008, p. 92.

"Now in its second year...(the) International Carpet Show in New York is gaining momentum...the show is likely to grow year-on-year, making this a red-letter event for buyers' diaries." -- HALI, "The New Carpet Mecca", London, September 29, 2006.

"NYICS 2006 Delivers for Many: -- The New York International Carpet Show (NYICS) met with success for many. Exhibitors found the Lexington Armory near New York's rug district a convenient location...new products offered retailers much to consider...California-based Caravan had one of the largest booths at the NYICS. “Good show,” said company head Mois Refoua. “It’s better than I expected." -- Rug Insider Magazine, New York, September 2006.

“This (2010) is our third year exhibiting at the New York International Carpet Show. The timing, the location, the mix of top end exhibitors and Dennis Dodds’ leadership combine to make an ideal show to reach the most discerning high end dealers. We love it and look forward to it every year.”  -- Tom DeMarco, Kooches, LLC

NYICS is the one place where you can introduce your products and services, launch new collections, maintain exposure, meet new buyers, establish partnerships, connect with customers, and generate revenue. All conveniently located just a short walk to the traditional Oriental carpet district!

A recent survey by The International Association of Exhibition Executives (IAEE) indicates that show events, like the New York International Carpet Show, are a preferred tool in the marketing budget with more companies using this medium to qualitatively increase their exposure to targeted buying audiences. This is especially true during volatile economic times when visibility is paramount.

NYICS in New York during Market Week is an essential business-to-business selling opportunity to top retailers, department stores and furnishings stores. We add value by introducing your goods to influential professional designers & architects whose clients demand top quality carpets for prestigious hospitality, corporate office, and high-end residential projects in today's design-driven marketplace. These repeat-buyers represent a major growth area for carpets in the US market. If your importing company is not reaching this influential segment of the marketplace, you are missing a big profit opportunity.

Please contact us if you have any questions. Booth space at NYICS is limited and is highly competitive.
